About the event
This is a community play for Ilkeston in every way. We have researched the background via people that actually worked in the local hosiery industry. Then attempting to keep the history alive, a writers group was formed from the community to write the play, keeping the story as authentic as possible and using music from the time. A group of actors was formed, again from the local community, who have been rehearsing towards this funny musical performance.
Come along and enjoy the performance, bring back memories for those of you that worked in that industry or if you had relatives who did it will bring to life their stories. Or otherwise, just enjoy.
All proceeds will go towards providing a community theatre for Ilkeston.
