FREE EVENT - What is eurythmy?...The art of eurythmy is not much known because it is an art of movement taught in Waldorf Steiner schools. Eurythmy is the art of making sounds, words or music, visible in choreographed movement and gesture. It's not mime or dance.

'What is eurythmy?...Why should I go to Weleda to see it?
The art of eurythmy is not much known because it is an art of movement taught in Waldorf Steiner schools, but not in the mainstream schools in the UK. There used to be a Waldorf Steiner School in Ilkeston for over 70 years, but, sadly it closed down in 2019.
At one time the Waldorf school was in the buildings that later became Weleda. There is still a eurythmy class for adults held at Weleda weekly. So, once again, WHAT IS EURYTHMY?? Eurythmy is the art of making sounds, words or music, visible in choreographed movement and gesture. It's not mime or dance.
On 16th August a short story will be performed in eurythmy, not by professionals, but by the small group of enthusiasts who meet once a week to enjoy doing eurythmy together. We'll show some of the…
